Chicks on Comics – a collective of female authors- Organized and exhibition with their amazing work and guest artists in Berlin. It made me really happy to receive an invitation from Sole Otero to be part of this show (my first piece in Berlin, yay!). I was asked to draw a single frame cartoon about female empowerment.
Some months ago I read about Malala Yousafzai, a girl from Pakistan who was shot in the head because she wants girls and women to have an education in her country. It proved to me again that we give so many things for granted, we can’t talk about having equal opportunities for women, while many girls are being neglected in the classrooms, can’t afford the school tuition or just aren’t allowed to go.
My Cartoon (and my english!) falls short to express all the things I’ve been thinking about this, I guess. But I’ll keep working.
I take my dancing very seriously.
I’m really happy and proud to be part of this cool exhibition in Minneapolis, MN. My piece is inspired in an old riddle I read when I was little in a beautiful book illustrated by Rodez, one of my teachers.
so here’s a little sneak peek.
